Indian Tuberose, Coriander, Ylang-Ylang

1689. You are headed towards the Trianon in the Versailles garden where the King has had a profusion of flowerbeds planted. It is evening. You pass by a group of courtesans. A gaze pierces you. In its wake, the heady scent of tuberose, mingled with jasmine and ylang-ylang, and, as though veiled, the unexpected trace of raspberry. Your heart just encountered love. It melts.

In "Le Nécessaire", the precious perfume is sealed and protected in an aluminum bottle. Two empty, delicately printed glass bottles give you the freedom to enjoy your favorite perfumes anywhere you like. It includes:

  • an empty 50ml screen-printed glass bottle,
  • an empty 15ml screen-printed glass bottle,
  • a glass funnel and
  • a 125 ml aluminum flask of Tubéreuse Trianon Eau de Parfum.

With highest percentage of natural ingredients possible, coming from traceable countries to get utmost quality (eg Tuberose from India).

Le Jardin Retrouvé was the first ever niche Maison de Parfum, created in 1975 by the renowned perfumer, Yuri Gutsatz. The man who made "Niche Perfumery" what it is today, rejected the constraints of the marketing-driven perfume industry in pursuit of creative freedom and the finest ingredients.

In 2016, more than 40 years later, his son & daughter-in-law have revived his original formulae and ethos to create a new, sustainable and liberating way to enjoy his beautiful, comforting fragrances.

  • "Tubéreuse Trianon depicts a walk at night, by fragrant flowerbeds, with exchanging glances and seductive scent in the air. We go back in time, more precisely in 1689. Tubéreuse Trianon speaks about the romances that arose inside the Palace of Versailles, which was the center of power in the ancient regime of France, at a time when the courtesans had more influence than the Queens. I know people who feel afraid to wear fragrances that bring the Tuberose as its central theme, because of its animalic and vibrant appearance. But here's a nice example of a perfume made with no pointy edges. And even though is a floral scent, I can imagine several men wearing this perfumed bouquet, revealing a side without prejudices and full of ulterior motives". (Cassiano - www.perfumart.com.br)
  • "At last, a fresh tuberose! Lovely fresh tubbey for a hot day Down Under. I'm really pleased to find a tubbey perfume that is fresh and light, which is in contrast with most tuberose fragrances in the market." (Betty M.)

  • "La Re:Source" aluminum flask can be purchased to refill your Le Jardin Retrouvé bottles with perfume, using the glass funnel. Place it in the refrigerator, and refill your glass bottles as needed. You can then re-order La Re:Source separately.
  • 50ml bottle: Keep the refillable 50ml bottle on your dresser or in your bathroom cabinet for your daily dose of fragranced joy.
  • 15 ml Le Petit Flacon: Slip the 15 ml Le Petit Flacon in your handbag or carry-on and enjoy the comfort of your favourite fragrances wherever you go.

- Expertise: "Our expertise is Yuri’s expertise, taken from his extensive laboratory experience, his Vice Presidency of the Société Française des Parfumeurs, the creation of the Osmothèque (a conservatory for bygone perfumes) and the extraordinary volume of notes that he left. Not only did Yuri meticulously document the unique formulae and processes of his craft; he was also able to capture the delicate nuances of his fragrances in poetry and prose. The rich archive of information and the values that Yuri passed down enables us to share Le Jardin Retrouvé in the spirit of true connoisseurship - appreciated by those ‘in the know’ and cherished by all."

- The Ingredients: "We source our natural ingredients from around the world, selecting only the very best as Yuri Gutsatz used to do. Some are as expensive as 12,000 euros per kg. The high price of our best ingredients explains why some of our perfumes are more expensive than others."

- Aging Protocol: "Ageing is critical for perfumes. Perfumes age in the period between the time the ingredients are mixed and when the final perfume is bottled - not in the bottle itself. This ageing process happens in two phases: during maturation (before the concentrate is mixed with alcohol) and maceration (when the concentrate is mixed with alcohol). The maturation and maceration time of your Le Jardin Retrouvé fragrance is marked on your LA RE:SOURCE flask."

- Maturation Time: "The ingredients, such as Bulgarian Rose or Haitian Vetiver, are weighed according to the Perfumer’s formula and mixed in an aluminum container, in which they are left to mature for a certain period of time. This determines the subtlety and the overall balance of the perfume. The industry standard is often barely over a week. Following Yuri’s protocol, we have set our maturation time at 3 weeks to ensure optimal refinement."

- Maceration Time: "This is when the maturated concentrate of ingredients is mixed with alcohol to create the perfume as it will be sold. The industry standard can be just a few days but Yuri believed the optimal time to be 3 weeks, which is the standard we apply to our perfumes."

- Date of Bottling: "Kept in a typical glass bottle, perfumes can generally last in good condition for about 2 years. This does not, however, take into account the two main elements that cause a perfume to degrade: light and heat. By storing the opaque, aluminum LA RE:SOURCE flask in your fridge (like perfumers do in their labs) you can keep your Le Jardin Retrouvé perfume true to its intended fragrance for much longer. This is one of the main reasons we developed the LA RE:SOURCE concept. The Date of Bottling can be found on your LA RE:SOURCE flask, unlike any standard perfume bottle."

- Sillage and Synthetics: "Contemporary perfumes are built around the extensive - and often excessive - use of powerful synthetic ingredients to boost sillage. These attention-grabbing, “in your face” modern scents are, chemically-speaking, the result of natural ingredients being overwhelmed by synthetics. Put another way, synthetics are used to make perfumes scream. By contrast, Le Jardin Retrouvé perfumes have been created in the spirit of traditional French perfumery, built around the very best natural ingredients while only using synthetics to enhance their performance - reinforcing the complex richness of the naturals during evaporation time to prolong the staying power of the scent on the skin. As such, ours are a ‘parfum pour soi’, that speak to you - and those closest to you - in honest tones of comfort and beauty."
