ARCHITECTURE: Oakland Home of Lisa Baird

We discovered this ravishing apartment a few months ago thanks to Rue Magazine and our friend/muse Vanessa Correa.

Not only Lisa Baird is the partner-in-crime of Vanessa in the up-coming sustainable jewelry venture Coleoptere but she also launched YachtLegend on top of working for the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation!

You can tell by the elegant interiors that Lisa is a savvy design woman. Every object has been cherry-picked, whether it is a gift or a vintage item. It probably does not hurt that Lisa's husband is an architect.

As Vanessa comments, even the "neo-gothic historic building in downtown Oakland is abundant in fantastic architectural detail"!

We invite you to read the whole article and learn more about this welcoming apartment atmosphere.

Editor's note: We have a particular weakness for the refurbished beach cruiser from the 70s that you can see in the hallway or the marble elephant inherited from her grand-mother. We have to say we regret that her two cats were not featured in these pictures as "I love cats because I love my home and after a while they become its visible soul." (Jean Cocteau)
