Music Series #1: Chilly Gonzales - Piano Showman & Entertainment Warrior

To kick-start our music series, we knew that Chilly Gonzales would be the real deal.

Music has always been our first passion and we have not come across any crazier and more versatile profile in the recent music history.

The least we can say is that Chilly Gonzales (no he is not latino that's his artist name!) likes to provoke, surprise, tease, charm and entertain. His talent is probably as obvious as his constant self-promotion. He is funny, tender, wild and always ready for the challenge. Enough said, his biography is already long and goes in all directions so we will give as always more information and links at the bottom of this page.

For now, ladies and gentlemen, here is the radio MiniMix made by Gonzo for DJ Annie Mac (BBC radio), and which we have been allowed to share with you for our music series #1.

We thank warmly Team Gonzo for such a special authorization!

Have no doubt that there will be more coming from this music genius on our website in the future...

Wikipedia is a good start... Unless you prefer his own biography version:

The question « Who is Chilly Gonzales? » elicits various answers:

« Berlin underground prankster rapper », « workaholic Grammy-nominated producer », « melancholic piano virtuoso » or « Guinness World Record holder ». In 2010, IVORY TOWER –writer, composer, actor and producer. And now…2011…the UNSPEAKABLE CHILLY GONZALES : the first-ever all-orchestral rap album and live show.

Chilly Gonzales left Canada for Berlin in 1998. Daft Punk, Bjork remixes did him well, but it wasn't enough. So on to Paris, and collaborations with Feist on her Let It Die and The Reminder albums. Solo Piano then became Gonzales' own best selling album, introducing Gonzo to an audience who actually buy music sometimes. The piano pieces were used in documentaries, in films. But to fully satisfy his insatiable ambition, only one thing was left to do and he did it in 2009: Chilly Gonzales broke Guinness' World Record for longest solo concert with 27 hours of piano. 2010 saw the intenational release of his first feature film IVORY TOWER starring Chilly, and fellow-Canadians Tiga and Peaches with a soundtrack album produced by German electro-genius Boys Noize."
